Daniel Simpson, a United Reformed Church (URC) Youth Assembly member, has taken up an opportunity which allows him to explore his vocation, gain an invaluable professional experience and grow his faith.

The Methodist Internship Programme helps those aged 21-26 to make links between faith and the working life of a vibrant and busy work place.

Having been told about the programme by URC Youth Assembly colleagues, Daniel, 21, jumped at the chance to take part. Here, he explains what it has been like in his own words:

Members of the United Reformed Church (URC) and the Evangelische Kirche der Pfalz met in Frankenthal from November 7-11 to mark the 30th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall.

Many local URC and EKP churches are in twinning or similar partnerships. 

The University of Cambridge has awarded the degree of Doctor of Divinity to the Revd Professor David Thompson, a former Moderator of the URC General Assembly. This degree is a higher doctorate, awarded by universities to a religious academic for accomplishments reaching well beyond the doctorate level.

The autumn meeting of Mission Council, the United Reformed Church’s (URC) executive body of the General Assembly, opened on 15 November at The Hayes Conference Centre, in Swanwick, Derbyshire.

The afternoon began with worship led by the Revd Elaine Colechin, Chaplain to Nigel Uden, Moderator of General Assembly.
