Lundie Memorial Awards
Do you know a child or young person who is playing their part in the mission of God in their church, synod, local community or the wider world?
The Lundie Memorial Award is designed to highlight and celebrate such individuals who are using their God-given skills, time and talent to good effect. Each month for 100 months the Children's and Youth Work Committee are awarding a medal and certificate to one of the nominated children and young people, along with a financial award of £100 to be spent to benefit children and/or young people in the church, synod or local community, however the award winner chooses.

June 2021 - Rupert Meechan - Eastern Synod
We are delighted to announce that the Lundie Memorial medal and award for June 2021 is being presented to 8-year-old Rupert Meechan from Eastern synod.
April 2021 - Bethany Davies - West Midlands Synod
Recipient of the Lundie Memorial Award for April 2021 is 20-year-old Bethany Davies from Shrewsbury URC.
Bethany was nominated by her minister, Revd Carole Marsden, and the Elders of the church for her work within our Church and community in the area of Dementia awareness and the setting up of the Messy Vintage programme at Shrewsbury URC.
Carole told us of the inspiring part Bethany plays in the mission of God to the elderly, especially those with dementia:
May 2021 - Emily Cheer - National Synod of Wales
This month the decision has been made to give the Lundie Memorial Award to an amazing young woman who has dedicated herself to the work of the Sanyu Babies' Home in Kampala, Uganda.
Emily Cheer is 24 and was nominated by the minister of Beulah URC, Martha McInnes. Martha told us of Emily's calling to serve the babies and toddlers cared for by this Christian organisation which cares for up to fifty little ones.Many of the children they take in are found abandoned in garbage heaps, pit latrines, diches, taxi parks or are left by the side of the road.
March 2021 - Mae Valle - Thames North Synod
March 2021 saw the Lundie Memorial Award going to Mae Valle, chosen from a number of very strong nominations for her selfless dedication to supporting children through her church involvement and Brownies and Guides.
