Church leaders, charity representatives and a celebrity have come together to urge the government to protect the supply of free school meals after a no-deal Brexit.

The open letter – signed by Derek Estill, Moderator of the United Reformed Church General Assembly – warns that the health of millions of children will be put at risk if the food supply to schools is not protected.

Daily Devotions, the United Reformed Church’s (URC) series of digital daily Bible readings, reflections and prayers, reaches its 1000th edition on 23 August.

The devotions are written by more than 100 people from across the denomination.

More than 3,000 subscribers receive the inspirational readings in their inboxes at 6am each day, and hundreds more follow online.

It is with deep sadness that the United Reformed Church (URC) announces the death of the Revd Graham Cook.

Graham was one of the best-known and most influential ministers in the story of the URC.
