The answer to this question was explored at Sanctuary First’s Re-imagining Church Conference held at Tulliallan Police College, Scotland, from 11-13 January.

Zimbabwe protest 2The Revd Paul Whittle, Moderator of the United Reformed Church Eastern Synod, has said he is deeply saddened and concerned at the violence occurring in Zimbabwe.

Protests broke out a week ago after the government more than doubled the price of fuel overnight. Living costs have also soared and many have found they cannot even afford the bus fare to work.

In response to the protests, security forces have been accused of using torture to curb protesters.

Northern synod young peopleUnited Reformed Church (URC) Youth Assembly 2019 themed ‘One Body: We’re all in this together’ took place from 18 to 20 January at Whitemoor Lakes, Staffordshire.

Dr Sam Richards, Head of Children’s and Youth Work, reflects on the event.

This year’s Youth Assembly explored how, as one body in Christ, we all have a part to play in the environment, social justice, and creating an inclusive Church.
