NIFEA Follow-up

The Council for World Mission (CWM) has challenged more churches to work towards an Economy of Life through its New International Financial and Economic Architecture (NIFEA) programme. In response, GiM’s theme for 2019 is ‘Forgive us our Debts?” and we are collating resources to help churches understand and realise an Economy of Life.GiM wants everyone to draw out the implications of this action of debt forgiveness – as a practical and financial tactic to subvert the systems of empire. Debt forgiveness lay at the heart of Jesus’ mission and the prayer that Jesus taught to his disciples.

We are collaborating with our ecumenical colleagues at the Congregational Federation on a publication called Abundant Life. We hope this will assist local congregations in their understanding and response to the invitation to create an Economy of Life.
