URC Tent people Chris AndrewsThe United Reformed Church (URC) at Greenbelt team is seeking 10 additional people to help run a variety of URC activities.

Greenbelt is a festival of arts, faith and activism and takes place at Boughton House, Kettering, from 28-31 August across 24 stages, galleries, installations and outdoor performances.

The URC, which has been an associate partner of Greenbelt since 2016, will give a free weekend ticket to those selected to volunteer.

The Revd Philip Brooks, URC Secretary for Ecumenical and Interfaith Relations, who is coordinating URC activities, says: “Being part of the URC volunteer team at Greenbelt is fun, with plenty of free time to enjoy the myriad of activities offered by Greenbelt.

“There’s no need to worry if you have never been before because you’ll be part of a supportive group of people. The URC volunteers pitch their tents together and there is no shortage of knowledgeable guidance on tap.”

There will also be an expectation to help with setting up and clearing away afterwards.

The closing date for applications is 23 March. Applications from URC Youth aged 16+ are also accepted.

Philip also encourages church groups to attend.

“Attending Greenbelt as a church group is an excellent way to deepen fellowship,” he continued. “There is something for everyone and all ages at Greenbelt, whether you have not even started your faith journey yet or have been ‘walking the way’ for many years.”

The URC at Greenbelt team is particularly interested in hearing from local churches or LEPs thinking about attending for the first time ever, or the first time in several years.
