More than 40 young people from across the United Reformed Church (URC) gathered for a weekend of worship, camping and fun at Crossfire Camp in Leicestershire.

The Christian youth camp is organised by the Group for Evangelism and Renewal (GEAR) and the URC and is where young people aged 12+ explore faith through small groups, teaching, worship and a range of fun activities.

This year’s camp explored the theme ‘lost and found’ and the group studied the account of Jesus healing the bleeding woman and the parables of the lost coin, the lost sheep and the prodigal son.

Nic, a youth worker, said: “I absolutely love Crossfire and think it is an incredible weekend. My young people love coming and I have watched them grow in their faith because of the provision the weekend gives for them to meet God.

“As a youth leader I have always found it great to be there but not have responsibility and therefore have time to talk to other leaders and have time with God for myself.”

In total 47 young people attended the event in May and each person was assigned to a small group for the weekend where they made friends, discussed matters important to them and completed a range of different activities.

Crossfire has been running for over 40 years and November will see the return of Crossfire Plus, a fellowship opportunity for those aged 16+ to explore more about living our faith out each day.

Crossfire Plus takes place between 15-17 November at Bonsall Camp, Derbyshire, and costs £15 per person when booked before 20 September and £25 thereafter.
