In the film, Holy Habits author, Andrew Roberts, says that prayer can ‘sometimes be as easy as breathing, but on other days it’s a struggle’.

But, he says, it’s important to remember that prayer is a habit to practice day by day.

Through Trinity Learning, based at Trinity Church, Abingdon, a local URC and Methodist ecumenical partnership, we see how children and young people are encouraged to pray.

Rosemary Parrow, Trinity Learning’s Education and Development Officer, explains how Trinity Learning goes into schools and provides quiet spaces for pupils, and staff, where they can sit and enjoy stillness and nature.

‘It’s important to develop the habit from an early age,’ she says.

At Lillington Free Church, in Leamington Spa, an initiative called ‘prayers for every household’ was developed.

The Revd James Church, Minister of the church, says: ‘Prayers for every household helps the church connect with the needs of its community. As we get deeper into it we find that we are developing and cultivating the holy habit of prayer.’
