Revd C M Kao news bannerThe United Reformed Church (URC) is sad to report the death of the Revd Dr C M (Chun-Ming) Kao who passed away on 14 February.

Dr Kao was the General Secretary of the Presbyterian Church in Taiwan (PCT) and a staunch advocate of human rights and democracy at a turbulent time in that country’s history. Many in the Church will recall Dr Kao’s work and his visits to the UK.

Student Sunday, on 17 February, known internationally as the Universal Day of Prayer for Students, also highlights the challenges students face, and their need for practical support and prayer.

WWC TIB newsbannerThe World Council of Churches (WCC) is inviting people to share their reflections on love for Valentine's Day as part of its #ThursdaysinBlack campaign.

#ThursdaysinBlack promotes solidarity and advocacy against all forms of sexual and gender-based violence, and this year Valentine’s Day, 14 February, falls on a Thursday.

The WCC said the campaign recognises that while the 14th February is a time to celebrate romance, ‘for too many people, 'love' comes with abuse and violence’.
