We are delighted to share that a Church Related Community Work project in south London is featured as a major case study in a collection of studies prepared by HeartEdge, with the support of the Archbishop’s Council of the Church of England.
Case Studies: commerce compassion culture congregation aims to distil transferable wisdom from pioneers in mission, who have modelled the work of the 4 Cs. Read the report in full here (PDF).
Copleston Church & Copleston Centre LEP has had a Church Related Community Work (CRCW) project since 2019 when newly graduated CRCW Jo Patterson took up her first post there.
Jo said at the time: "The rapidly changing profile of the local community presents a significant challenge that is viewed with apprehension, but also hope of transformation and development, which they believe will bring benefits to all sections of the community."
Revd Dr Sam Wells, Vicar of St Martin-in-the-Fields says: ‘This collection of case studies is a mini theology of the Holy Spirit. It traces the way the Holy Spirit works – blessing open-hearted, openminded enquiry, exploration, discovery, partnership and initiative.
'Rather than settle on a model of church and strive to reproduce it far and wide, this approach perceives how the Holy Spirit is working in the world, and sets up a tent there, harnessing the Spirit’s energy and yoking itself to the world’s imagination.’
Additional case studies can also be found by those joining HeartEdge on the HeartEdge website.
The case studies in this booklet will feature in a podcast series and you will be invited to make contributions to this new series, which will share further your wisdom and stories about using the 4 Cs.
