Church Related Community Work student, Fliss Tunnard, reflects on the highs and lows of organising her wedding during the pandemic and how her faith has helped get through these difficult times and find joy in the simple things in life.
For many of us, the period of lockdown, as a result of COVID-19, has presented many frustrations, challenges and stress. Not to mention the heartbreak of knowing of friends or family experiencing complications due to the virus.
But, it has for some, also presented situations where joy and comfort has come out of the simplest things, like spending more time with loved ones (if you have had the good fortune to live with them or have them in your 'support bubble'). Or, baking, gardening and walking, like you have never done before! I for one, after a long hiatus have got back into illustration and produced some artwork as gifts for others...because I suddenly had the time to get creative again.
Imagine then, the highs and lows of planning a wedding during lockdown. The periods of anxiety, relating to whether you will even make it to the aisle, or whether family and friends will be able to share in the celebrations on your big day. Our CRCW student, Fliss Tunnard is going through this very scenario, and thankfully, with the big day just around the corner...things are looking brighter!

Philippians 4:6-7: “Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
